other和another都有“其他”的意思，但是another是两个中的另外一个，而other就没有这个意思。同时，other单独用可以作形容词，表示“其他的”，theother特指两个之中除了当前这个之外的另一个。
other指两者中的另外一个，而another指的是三者或者三者以上的另一个。another后面接单数，other后面多接复数，当other前面有the时，就是指两者中特指的那一个，这时候用单数。
