定语从句
1。定义：用来修饰名词或代词的从句叫做定语从句。定语从句所修饰的词叫做先行词。定语从句一般应紧放在先行词之后。引导定语从句的有：（1）关系从句who ,whom,whose,which,that,(2)关系副词when,where,why
This is the reservior that they built year。
这就是他们去年修建的水库。（关系代词）
The men who is talking with a group of women is the factory director。
正在和一群妇女说话的那个人是这个工厂的厂长。
（关系代词）
I can never forget the day when I gave the first lesson。(关系副词)
我永远也忘不了我第一次上课的那天。
2。关系代词和关系副词，在定语从句中，都有其语法功能，作为一个句子的成分。
关系代词可作主语，宾语或定语。关系副词可作状语。
强调句
两种强调结构：
1。谓语的强调：强调谓语动词时，在此动词前加上发强音的助动词：do(does,did), 其结构为do/does/did+动词原形。
The foregoing experiment shows that magnetic attraction (does) thake place at a distance。
前面这个实验显示出，磁性西历确实会在一定距离内起作用。
(Do) be careful in making such experiments。
做这样的实验时务必小心。
2。其它成份的强调。
（1）用强调句型It is (was)+强调的部分+that/which。
。。或It is (was)+强调部分+who(whom)。。。
强调状语时，只能用that引导。
Three years ago a young mathematician solved this problem。
三年前，一位青年数学家解决了这个问题。
1）强调主语：It was a young mathematican who/that solved this problem three years ago。
2）强调宾语：It was this problem that a young mathemati-cian solved solved threeyears ago。
3）强调状语：It was three years ago that a young mathematician solved this problem
