across 是"在平面上横过"(表示平面的) 。如横过马路、操场、沙漠、广场等
through是"在空间穿过","穿透" (表示在立体的)。如穿过森林、峡谷；透过窗户、孔等
可以说"go across the desert" (across是介词)或 "cross the desert" (cross是动词)，不可以用through。
across 是横向穿过 而是through纵向穿过
这里肯定是不能用go through，因为through是在…之中或之间穿过；而across是一般的穿过；越过： 如穿过森林就只能用go through。
