大学英语作文闯红灯的后果
I was on a business trip to Germany years ago. When I arrived at the station, my good friend Harry picked me up in his private car. Harry is a clerk in the German branch of our trading company. On the way to the company Hostel, I talked with him excitedly. When he passed an intersection, the red light on the opposite side was on. Harry didn't have time to brake and rushed straight over. "No, I ran the red light!" Cried Harry, his face getting worse and worse.
I asked anxiously, "is it serious to run a red light in your Germany?"
"It's more than serious. Just wait and see. I and my family will face the test of lack of integrity from now on." When Harry told me, he drove with all his heart. I don't think Harry's serious enough to bother him any more.
Three days later, Harry came to work and handed me two punishment sheets. When I saw it, a traffic ticket was sent to him by the traffic management office because he drove through the red light that day and was caught by the traffic management monitor on the roadside. It is not new to be punished for running a red light in China. But what surprised me was another punishment form from the insurance company, which said: "we just retrieved your recent traffic records and found that you rashly ran through the red light at a busy intersection. According to our logical reasoning, people like you often face great danger and act very dishonestly. Therefore, we will increase the cost of your personal insurance by 1%."
I said, "I'll take care of your traffic ticket. It's because of me that you have suffered money losses."
Harry shrugged his shoulders and said casually, "no! I don't want you to pay the fine for me. I want you to know what happens when you run a red light in Germany."
But it was not over. A few days later, Harry showed me the punishment form from the bank. It was also because Harry ran the red light. The bank had listed his family as dishonest users and asked them to repay the installment loan in advance.
The day before I finished my trip to Germany and prepared to return to China, Harry was blacklisted by our branch in Germany for the next wave of layoffs due to the lack of "personal integrity" record.
