文章：Just before Christmas in 1971, a German girl called Juliana was flying with her mother over the South American jungle. They were going to Peru to spend Christmas with her father.
They were flying high in the sky. Juliana took a look through the thick glass window of the plane. Three thousand metres below her she could see nothing but the thick green jungle. Suddenly, there was a loud noise. Juliana found herself falling through the air. She closed her eyes. She felt frightened. She was sure that she was going to die.

To her surprise, she was not only alive, she was even badly hurt. She was still sitting in her seat. She got out of the seat, and climbed down the tree. But she could see nobody else in the jungle. She was alone except for a few dead bodies here and there. She was very frightened.
She was wearing a thin dress. She was holding a bag of sweets. She had nothing else. Her arms and legs hurt a bit, but she could walk.
So she began to walk. At first she had nothing to eat except the sweets. After a while she found a little fruit she had never seen before. She did not know if it was good to eat. But there was nothing else. She made up her mind that the fruit was safe after she saw some monkeys eating it.
After four days she came to a deep river. The river was rather dirty, but she was very thirsty, so she drank some water from it. She decided to follow the river. She thought that it was certain to lead to a village or town.
Juliana walked by the side of the river for six more long days. Sometimes she could hear planes above the trees. They were looking for her plane. But the jungle was too thick.
Juliana began to feel deeply afraid. Perhaps she would never be found! But she did not give up hope. She walked on and on. Ten days after the accident, she arrived at an Indian village. The people were very surprised to see her. They gave her a warm welcome. At last she was safe!
