《星条旗》（The Star-Spangled Banner），由美国律师弗朗西斯·斯科特·基(Francis Scott Key)作词，美国作曲家约翰·菲力浦·苏萨(John Philip Sousa,1854-1932）作曲。
1814年在美国1812年战争中，诗人弗朗西斯·斯科特·基在巴尔的摩目睹了英军对麦克亨利堡的进攻，和美军的英勇抵抗。
  1814年9月13日凌晨，弗朗西斯·斯科特·基透过炮火的硝烟，看到一面美国国旗仍然在城堡上迎风飘扬，他被这景像深深感动，随手在一封信的背后写下了几行诗。第二天，他把诗稿送给法官尼科尔逊 Nicholson，得到大力赞赏，并建议用一首当时非常流行的曲子John Stafford Smith作曲的“To Anacreon in Heaven”做为配曲，同时取歌名为“星条旗之歌”The Star Spangled Banner，这首歌深受美国人民的喜爱，很快就传遍全国。
  1931年被正式定为美利坚合众国的国歌。
虽然有四组歌词，但务实上几乎只唱第一组歌词，不唱其他歌词，尤其是第三组带有反英情绪的歌词。而苏萨的著名进行曲《星条旗永不落》经常被误认为是美国国歌，是不正确的。
