For most people,summer hoilday means sun,sea and sand, but not for Canadian schoolgirl Sarah Landry. She had a hoilday full of ice and snow.She and her family travelled across Creenland!Starting just above the Arctic Circle(北极圈),the Sarah's family used dogsleds(狗打雪橇)and kites to cross the worid's largest island. Sarah says there wasn't much to see during the long jurney.“There is only snow,ice,and more snow.”The family travelled 15 miles a day for 22 days,but went faster when strong winds pushed along their kites. Then the weather became too hot for the dogs to pull sleds durlng the day,sothe family began travelling night.The Landrys liced in tents(帐篷),ate dried food,and took baths with heated water.When they weren't travelling,they played with kites and made snowmen.The family had a notebook computer and they could send and get e-mails even from Greenland's ice cap(冰帽)！he road to the top was icy and dangerous. The difficult journey was worth(值得的)it when they reached the ice capand saw theview.“Icebergs were as bright as the rising sun.”Now Sarah and her family have returned home,but they're already talking about their next plan.Next holiday,they are going to the South Pole.
