如果用theirs，则表示“他们的计划”了，而题中明确说了“the plan”，是单数。题目的意思是他们在几个人之中讨论了那个计划，among用于“几个人之间（中）”，themselves刚好有这个意思，而且与题相符。

而这个空显然应该填个名词，否则说不通，“themselvs”是“他们”的意思，可以说得通。
