•   英国作家，诗人哈代以《苔丝》和《无名的裘德》闻名于世。他写过一首the last chrysanthemum，意境与《菊花台》歌词相仿。
  　　第一段如下：
  　　Why should this flower delay so long
  　　To show its tremulous plumes?
  　　Now is the time of plaintive robin-song,
  　　When flowers are in their tombs。
    
  　　大意是：为何在百鸟哀鸣，众花凋零的时候，这朵菊花傲然绽放，长久停留?与黄巢的“我花开尽百花杀”异曲同工。
  　　中间还有一段写道：
  　　Too late its beauty, lonely thing,
  　　The season's shine is spent,
  　　Nothing remains for it but shivering
  　　In tempests turbulent。
    
  　　“菊花太美太孤独，当四季光辉耗尽，徒留她在寒风中战栗。” 这一段里，哈代作品里的幽冥与宿命得以充分体现。这也是我喜欢哈代作品的理由。
